I just watched An Education, directed by Lone Scherfig, adapted from a book by UK author/journalist, Lynn Barber. The movie takes place in early sixties England, in a town just shy of London. In short, the plot develops around a cerebral but naive 16 y/o school girl who meets a man twice her age, who more or less whisks her off into his dreamy adult world. Of course like all things too good to be true, and so is the adult world. The movie was good and very much reminded me of a personal experience related to matters of the heart.
It also reminded me of this awesome ad via Interview magazine…an old London Fog ad from the sixties. Thanks to Mad Men, J Crew, and now this, the sixties are back.
